I booked a room for my son through Trip.com.He works for a company based in Kamloops and has been working out of town for the past 3 months. He gave up his apartment before he left for work because he wasn’t going to be there and he wanted to save money to buy a home for him and my grandson.. He needed a place to stay for one night, before he moved into his new apartment. The machine shop where he is employed is close to the Riverland so I chose it out of convenience.. When my son arrived at the motel to check in at Riverland he was refused and told the reason was because they do not rent rooms to people from Kamloops. My son explained his predicament to the person on duty, but he was still refused a room. So then he called me and told me everything that was happening. Because he was still in the lobby at the time, I asked if I could speak to person he talked to. She confirmed the explanation my son gave as the reason for not allowing him to stay. When I asked to speak to the manager I was refused and told that my son was not welcome to stay at the motel. When I asked about a refund , again I was refused and told I would have to take that up with Trip.com. I am not from Kamloops, but I travel there lots to see our friends and family members there. I have lots of friends and family that travel to Kamloops for the same reason and all of them will find out from me how completely dissatisfied and outraged I am because of my experience at this Motel. I do not recommend anyone stay here.
